I am Paulo Roriz, I was born in Portugal and graduated from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in December 2022. After completing internships in Berlin, my first job was at a 24/7 hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. This hospital gave me a lot of experience about intensive care and surgery, and some exotics practice as well. I moved to the UK in October 2024 and have been working at Cherrydown Vets since November 2024.

 I have 2 cats and 3 dogs, and more than 30 birds. I love Small Animal Surgery and Exotic Medicine.

I have always had a connection with animals. I lived in a small town with lots of animals. I was always in contact with different species, such as: dogs, cats, pigs, donkeys, chickens and ducks, and some other farm animals too. I entered veterinary medicine to try to make the world a little better. Taking care of animals and their owners, helping them in difficult times like euthanasia or chronical diseases or in moments of joy like the first vaccination.

In my spare time I like going to the gym, specifically CrossFit. When I was in Portugal I bred many species of birds, such as parrots, ducks, and peacocks. I like to have a games night with my friends, travelling and going to the beach. I also like to do volunteering jobs such as, Red cross, homeless and Animal charities.
