Our very own client care manager Olivia Noble and her two pet greyhounds have had a real taste of success at their first Crufts competition.
Special Release, also known as Elsa, placed third in the Greyhound Special Racing/Lure Coursing category and Special Milli, also known as Milli, scooped a highly commended award, coming in fifth place.
The dogs are both retired racing dogs and Olivia has known them since they were puppies. Their mother Liberty was owned by Olivia’s dad prior to her retirement from racing.
Although new to the prestigious Crufts competition, both dogs have previously competed in mixed breed classes, fun dog shows and scooped top awards.
Olivia said: “We all had a great day at Crufts. Millie was springing around the ring and Elsie enjoyed all the fuss and treats at the stands.
“We would definitely go to Crufts again. I wish we had done it sooner. They will be eight in May and Crufts is a long day but we will continue to do it for as long as they enjoy it.”
Olivia and her sister Bethia, who have had a life-long passion for greyhounds, founded the Peaceful Pets charity – a subsidiary of Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust – a year ago.
The charity looks after retired racing greyhounds and works to find them new, loving homes.
Olivia said the gorgeous Elsa and Milli are great ambassadors for the charity and they can often be seen at meet-and-greet sessions in various towns and cities, demonstrating to the public just what great pets greyhounds make.
We think Milli and Elsa really are top dogs and we’re delighted for them, and of course, for Olivia. We’re all looking forward to Crufts 2020 and hope the dogs will do brilliantly once again!
