Meet Angela, our dog behaviourist
“I’ve been a veterinary nurse for 25 years and always had a passion for dogs. A few years ago I rescued a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who has lots of reactivity issues and anxieties, and so although canine behaviour had always been a thought in the background I decided to do something about it. 5 years ago I started puppy classes and completed a few short courses on canine behaviour then 3 years ago I started the COAPE diploma in companion animal behaviour and qualified last year.
I am registered with CAPBT (COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers). I can help dogs with anxieties, phobias, nervous behaviour, lack of socialisation (lockdown puppies and Romanian street dogs). I can also help with leash reactivity and inter dog aggression in the household as long as not too severe, separation anxiety, and general puppy and juvenile behaviour advice. If your dog is nervous about visiting the vet I can help to desensitise them by slowly getting your dog used to coming in and getting treats then working up to an examination. I completed my fear free training last year, so can help reduce stress and anxiety in veterinary visits and examinations.
I look forward to working with you and your dog and helping you to have a happy and wholesome future together.”
